Surgery Techniques QUALITY OF LIFE IN PATIENTS WITH BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA (BPH): ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY VERSUS LASER THERAPY

چکیده
METHODS: This is a retrospective observational cohort study: one cohort includes patients who underwent endoscopic surgery, and the other patients undergoing laser therapy (vaporization). A total of 106 patients were included, divided into two cohorts. Two questionnaires were prepared for those who fulfilled inclusion criteria, the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), two months before and six months after the date of surgery, Arch. Esp. AB016. Which laser works best for benign prostatic hyperplasia?
The advantages offered by lasers compared to older technologies for endoscopic surgery for symptomatic benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) are reviewed. Laser treatments for the endoscopic management of patients with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) resulting from BPH can be divided into three basic techniques. These techniques are vaporisation (removal of tissue), resection of tissue (excision o...

Objective(s): This study was aimed to evaluate whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of TLR4 and common living habits of prostate hyperplasia (BPH) patients would affect the subjects’ risk and prognosis.Materials and Methods: We totally recruited 501 BPH patients and 964 healthy controls. The patients’ international prostate symptom score (IPSS) and quality of life assessment (QoL) wer...
متن کاملEvolving Techniques for Surgical Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
The management of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is one of the most topical areas in urology. Although most patients are adequately managed conservatively, many still require surgery to reduce bladder outlet obstruction or relieve symptoms by removing the inflamed adenomatous tissue. Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) remains the gold standard...
متن کاملSexual outcome of patients undergoing thulium laser enucleation of the prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia
Treatment of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) may affect the quality of sexual function and ejaculation. The effect of new surgical procedures, which are currently available to treat BPH, on erection and ejaculation, has been poorly studied. This study aimed to assess the effect of thulium laser enucleation of the prostate (ThuLEP...
متن کاملComparative analysis of resected prostate weight in diabetic and non-diabetic benign prostatic hyperplasia patients
Background: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is the most common benign tumor in men. The etiology of BPH is still unresolved and multiple systems are likely to be involved. The effects of diabetes on urinary system are a risk factor for BPH. We then assessed the effects of diabetes on the parameters related to BPH, especially weight and volume. Methods: This study was conducted on patients...
